Red Eagle Gallery proudly offers handcrafted rattles using traditional materials in traditional and contemporary styles.All are designed and made by the Red Eagle family.

Deer or elk toes (the halves of the hoof)or occationally elk or moose dew claws have been used for centuries as rattles. We have attached them to a deer bone or wood handle and added beadwork and other decorations.

Each rattle is made with a genuine turtle shell. The head is carved from wood. The tail and feet are crafted from leather, and the claws are dentalium shells. Each is beaded with 13/0 cut seed beads and heavily fringed.

Each rattle has a buffalo (American Bison) rib bone handle. The head of the rattle is made from a section of buffalo horn sheath .
